Palliative orofacial care, tobacco cessation and forensic dentistry also come in the purview of this specialisation.

As part of the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions we perform basic chair side investigations like vitality tests of teeth, vital dye staining (checks for oral cancer), scrape smear (evaluates the kind of germs in the mouth) or do biopsies (test to assess type of pathology, also do confirm clinical suspicions),order and interpret tests including imaging from basic dental radiographs to CT Scans and MRIs, salivary and blood tests and microbiological investigations.
